Jazz Legacies Fellows
In a series of quick-fire Q&As, we asked the 2025 and 2026 Jazz Legacies Fellows to share their advice for aspiring musicians and what record they'd bring to a desert island.
Why did we make this?
Funded by the Mellon Foundation and administered by the Jazz Foundation of America, the Jazz Legacies Fellowship supports seasoned jazz musicians, aged 62 and over. During the annual convening of Fellows, we asked the artists a series of quick-fire questions that would resonate with both the jazz community and general audiences.
Production Process
As the Producer of this series, I scripted the questions, videotaped the interviews, and edited the final videos. Knowing that many of the Fellows were new to social media, I provided toolkits for the Fellows and their families to share the videos with their communities.
